My dad started taking me horseback riding when I was 3.
When I was 13, I got my first horse, and a job to go with it. By the time I was 15, I was offering beginner horseback riding lessons after school.
One of my best jobs after I graduated from college was marketing for a customer service improvement consulting company.
Working there I was encouraged to follow my heart, and write my first book, Living With Children and Horses.
When I met and married Mike, he had no idea what he was signing up for.
30 years later, Cloud Nine Horses is the result of a lifetime of learning, adapting, refining and teaching people how to have real, meaningful conversations with their horses.

I’m very grateful I got the opportunity to grow up around horses.
I’ve gotten to learn and train in multiple disciplines with multiple breeds.
I’ve shown everything from Clydesdales to Peruvian Pasos.
My first horse was a 2 year old bratty pony that constantly tried to toss me in the dirt.
she’s now 23 and “Sassy pony” will be with me the rest of her days.
I didn’t have easy horses
I had to learn a lot about the basics and turned that into a business of helping troubled horses that had undesirable or dangerous behaviors.
I got two free geldings as a teenager and Arabian and Appaloosa that also shaped who I am now as a horsewoman.
I was hired to start my first outside colt when I was 12 and I’ve been training ever since.
I’ve studied with a lot of incredible people.
I’m passionate about helping horses and riders become better partners regardless of you want to show or just enjoy your horse.
There is so much value in
good horsemanship. Ground work, liberty to whichever discipline, it’s all about having excellent basics.
I’m proud to work alongside my mother, raising, training and showing our homebred Appaloosa horses.
